An old Abaco map

I borrowed this image of an old Abaco, Bahamas map from an interesting and informative website devoted to Rolling Harbour, Abaco and the Delphi Club. Check it out at:

Great photography and writing. Iwould like to visit there in the Fall.

There are many interesting features, labels and annotations on this old map (at least interesting to me!)
1. Lubbers Quarters Cay is labelled in the plural but not possessive form (Lubbers not Lubber's or Lubbers')
2. Elbow Cay is also referred to as Little Guana Cay (vs. "Great" Guana Cay, north of Man O War Cay)
3. The spelling of Mores Island....... (Mores, not Moores, Moore's, More's).
4. Cooling Temper Bay near the junction of Great and Little Abaco! Love the name.
5. Line that delineates the boundary between the ministerial districts of the Abacos

Blog updates to follow......... including a bittersweet story of violent storms, dollars spent, dreams dashed and resurrected, tears shed, Rum consumed, life going on......
