A blog describing the lengthy and sometimes challenging ("Abaco ain't for sissies"), but ultimately rewarding process of constructing a small second home in the Abacos. Punctuated by some photos.

The weather here has been pleasant overall, but lots of rain. This is followed by light breezes then a few nice intervals of beautiful sun and skies. It is a strange feeling to see the actual construction beginning after six years of planning and saving. The deck view and sunrise photos are both from Cliff House where I am staying on this trip. The third photo is of Clubb Lubb, built by our builder last year, a beautiful home that is also available for rent, (www,ClubbLubb.com) More Photos to follow. This is a solo trip for me to check on construction, and the lack of adult supervision was evident this AM. Ibuprofen, coffee, and water. then more ibuprofen. Along with the rain I have experienced a couple of unpredicted rum squalls which have slowed my progress to a degree. Cliff house is a wonderful rental home.
